BIOGRAPHY ABOUT JULIAN RAMIREZ PINO.

(Businessman, politician and writer from Montilla).

Julian Ramirez Pino was born in Montilla (Cordova, Spain) on May 18, 1922.

He studied at the Salesian School until 12, when he had to leave his studies in order to devote himself to the family business (grape harvesters).

   His first steps in the business he was like a dealer of cattle, without never leaving the harvesters' familiar (family) vocation of grape.

In the photo Julian Ramirez Pine, first of the left side, with a group of dealers of cattle in the Fair of Cordova leaned on his first FORD, in the forties.

 

 

From his marriage to Rafaela Ponferrada Naranjo, he had 11 children. His vocation as a businessman lead him to create, among other enterprises, Bodegas Montulia.

In his public activity, he always occupied posts exclusively connected with Montilla, such as:

  • Deputy Mayor of Montilla and President of the Feasts’ Committee for 9 years.
  • President of the Association of Plowmen and Cattle Raisers.
  • Regional Delegate of Trade Unions, Provincial President and National Member of the Vine Trade Union (post for which he was reelected for 4 legislatures).
  • Member of the Regulating Council of the Origin Denomination Montilla-Moriles.
  • Member of the INDO.
  • President of the Group of Provincial Viticulture.
  • Honour Foreman of the Brotherhood "Virgen de las Viñas".
  • First Proclaimer of the Holy Week.

Throughout his life, he was a collaborator in different publications: Revista Munda (of which he was both founder and proprietor), La Semana Vitivinícola, Nuestro Ambiente, etc...

He died in Montilla on May 5, 1995.
